The program Hygiene and Sanitation in health care facilities prepares students to be hygiene and sanitation workers. Graduates will work in different health system institutions such as hospitals, long-term care centers, CLSC's, senior's homes (private or public), medical clinics, specialized medical clinics, rehabilitation centers, palliative care homes and psychiatric centers. They can also work in dental clinics, health centers, sports centers and daycares. They clean, disinfect and keep all the premises clean. Among other things, they clean and disinfect patient care units, indoor and outdoor public areas and other care areas like pharmacies, surgery rooms, labs, external clinic offices, morgues, exam rooms, special care units and dental clinics. Maintenance is done daily or periodically.
