“Integration into the Workplace” is the final competency in the IDVD program. After the successful completion of the first 19 competencies, students will be required to do an internship in the field. The 3 to 4-week stage will give the student an opportunity to work at a company or with an independent decorator/designer, where they will be able to get firsthand experience in the Decorating and/or Display industry. During the internship, students will be mentored by professionals, where they will be able to not only observe and learn but be afforded the opportunity to collaborate and apply their acquired skills.
Upon return from the stage, the interns will make a presentation sharing their experience with their fellow graduates and teachers.
Part of the transportation cost is covered for full-time students living on the island of Montreal between LaSalle’s Angrignon metro and the NOVA Career Centre in Chateauguay.
