Program Objectives

To enable the students to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to interpret the work plans and technical drawings; to apply concepts of occupational health and safety; to apply assembly techniques; to repair, assemble and install a mechanical or hydraulic system and its subassemblies; to balance a rotor; to enter the work force.

Diemaker

Diemakers, also referred to as die repairers, make punches and dies. They analyze and draw the components used to make them. They set up and operate workshop machine tools and adjust and assemble parts to manufacture or prepare dies. As part of their workshop duties, they may be required to perform maintenance on machine tools. This meticulous and precise job requires logic, good observation skills and method. A career as a die maker is suitable for people who enjoy working with objects.
