Forestry technicians coordinate and supervise forestry work (such as harvesting, reforestation, research projects, etc.) and infrastructure work (forest roads, drainage, camp sites). They take inventory and analyze the state of forests, manage fell wood stocks and ensure compliance of projects being carried out in forest environments. As part of their tasks, they may develop landscaping plans and forest protection plans. It is a demanding but rewarding job for those who enjoy working outdoors and in nature. A job as a forestry technician requires being in excellent physical condition, manual dexterity, leadership skills and an aptitude for science and numeracy.
