Program Objectives

To develop in the students the competencies required to integrate harmoniously in to the school and work environments, to perform tasks prerequisite to high-pressure welding, to understand the concepts and principles essential to the trade, to make use of information contained in drawings of pressure vessels, to apply the different processes used to weld pressure pipes, to apply the torch brazing process used on pressure pipes and to weld and repair pressure vessels.

High Pressure Welder

Pressure welders weld piping and equipment operating at high pressures with great precision and efficiency. These specialized welders carry out preparatory work for high-pressure welding, repair welded seams on piping, and use various welding processes: shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), semi-automatic welding (GMAW), etc. It is a demanding but rewarding occupation requiring good visual acuity and excellent manual dexterity. This job is suited to people who are responsible and perfectionists.
