To prepare students to practise the trade of computer numerical control (CNC) machinist in various types of machine shops and manufacturing companies. The main duties of CNC machinists are to operate numerical control milling machines, machining centres and lathes; in addition, they must correctly interpret drawings, process sheets and operating procedures, record measurements, and perform inspections and finishing operations on workpieces.

To be eligible for admission to the Numerical Control Machine Tool Operation program of study, candidates must satisfy the following requirements: 1. Have obtained at least Secondary III credits or the equivalent in the language of instruction, second language and mathematics or Have obtained an Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (AESS) or Have successfully completed the General Development Test (GDT) with or without specific prerequisites 2. Have interrupted their full-time studies for at least 12 months or Are 18 years old when entering training or Have obtained a Secondary School Diploma (SSD) or a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or their equivalent or Meet the eligibility conditions of Emploi-Québec’s workforce training measure This program is accessible via the TCST-STC bridge.
